Signal scan

Four live sources on one name, read in a single pass, with a verdict instead of a raw identifier. Most lookup tools hand you a KGMID and stop. The identifier on its own has never told anybody what to do next.

What actually gets a name into an AI answer, and what does not.

What three assistants actually say about you

Nine prompts across identity, category and buying intent. Open each one in ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity, read the answer, and log whether your name appeared. The score out of nine is your share of voice, and the number only means something when you re-run it monthly.

Read it monthly, not once

A single run is a snapshot of one conversation with a system that changes without notice. The trend across three months is the only version worth acting on.

CH 02Source notesWHAT THEY MEAN
Knowledge Graph

Google’s own index of things it believes exist. A record means Google holds a file on the name. An empty result does not prove you have no panel, because this index is partial and lags the search page.

Wikidata

Open structured data, heavily read by machines. A clean sourced item is a strong signal. An unsourced one that gets deleted is worse than never creating it, which is why we gate this hard.

Wikipedia

The strongest single signal and the hardest to earn honestly. Notability is decided by editors reading independent coverage. If somebody offered to write you a page, that is the offer to walk away from.

Google Books

Published work with an ISBN against your exact name. The most durable accelerator available. If this reports “no answer” the lookup failed, which is never the same as saying you have no books.

The number is not a grade

Match strength is resultScore from Google’s Knowledge Graph Search API. Google defines it as how well an entity matched the query you just typed.

It is query-relative. It is not a confidence rating, not a trust score, and Google publishes no threshold for it. Anybody presenting it as “your Google confidence score” has dressed a diagnostic up as a grade, and you should discount everything else they tell you.

What it is genuinely good for: comparing records against each other for the same query. If yours scores 24 and a stranger with your name scores 400, that gap is the real obstacle, and it is far more useful than any single number alone.

Three routes
Route AClaim it

A dominant record already answers to the name. Ownership and correction, measured in weeks.

Route BStrengthen, then claim

A record exists and is not dominant. The gap is independent witnesses. Three to six months.

Route CFull build

Nothing to point at. Ninety days minimum before movement, six to twelve months to a panel.
